Responsibilities:
• Goal achievement
-Achieve strategic and operational goals for the Engineering Team China
-Define clear goals and to generate new business in line with the strategy
• Concept development during RFQ period
-Product feasibility assessment
-Develop the flow, concept of product/process/tool
• Product Development & Realization
-Provide and develop an efficient product development process
-Responsible for the implementation of customer projects (time, cost) up to series validation
• Design mgt. & Coordination
-Manage design projects
-Cooperation & coordination with partners inside and outside the DSS organization during product development
• Leadership of the engineering organization
-Strategy compliant and results oriented leadership of the engineering organization Mobility China
-Responsible for a competent, professional, and efficient organization
• Communication & Reporting
-Technical communication & advise customer on specific related issues
-Support commercial and business development activities in the areas of new products & technologies
-Communicate with a multi-disciplinary team (business development, R&D material, regulatory experts, simulation, tooling, operations…)
-Reporting on the current product development as well as defined process KPI's
• Support in Projects:
-Create project reporting to review process KPI's and initiates necessary corrective actions
-Supervise the team in the implementation of projects
-Assistance in CIP projects
• Team Management & Development
-Build and develop a competent and capable team
-Monitor and support the team in relevant negotiations
-Responsible for the necessary employee development
-Promote co-engineering and train program managers accordingly
Qualifications:
• Technical education with Bachelor degree or above (Master of Engineering or business administration is preferred)
• Very good technical knowledge in the automotive segment
• Experience in Plastics/Rubber Production
• Several years’ experience of engineering in automotive industry
• Confident handling of the latest EDP tools
• Proven ability to lead a team
• Feels comfortable in different cultural environments
• Openness & willingness to business travel
• Interest in regular training and development activities
• Rich experience in engineering or R&D, in mobility or similar industries, more than 2 years’ experience in Product design related to rubber products
• Experience in EVs, battery systems and subcomponents and hydrogen technologies are a major advantage
• Proficient in using Solidworks CAD (or UG, CREO, CATIA drawing tools as option)
• Able to make product design (3D-modeling and drawings), DFMEA, and DOE
• Deep understanding of rubber knowledge (especially material mechanics, rubber product structural design, rubber processing, rubber mold structure, etc.)
• FEA Analysis basic knowledge
• Common understanding of IATF16949 system, quality tools, quality problems of rubber products
• Proficient use of office software
• Driven, purposeful and communicative personality
