Leapmotor has planted another flag in Southeast Asia. On July 31, the Chinese EV maker showcased its B10 and C10 global models at the 2026 Indonesia International Auto Show and formally announced its entry into the Indonesian market.

The move is more than a press conference. On the same day, Leapmotor and Indonesia's Indomobil Group kicked off local knock-down (KD) assembly production in the country. This makes Indonesia Leapmotor's second localized production base in Southeast Asia, following its Malaysia setup.
Why Indonesia matters: it is the largest car market in ASEAN by volume, and the government has been aggressively courting EV investment with tax breaks and local-content incentives. By partnering with Indomobil — a major local distributor and assembler — Leapmotor gets immediate access to showroom footprint, import duty advantages and, crucially, credibility with Indonesian buyers.
Editor's Note: Leapmotor is moving faster in Southeast Asia than many expected. Malaysia first, Indonesia second — this is not a pilot anymore. It is a systematic regional build-out, and the Stellantis-backed balance sheet is clearly paying for speed.
