AVATR is picking up the pace. The Changan-Huawei-CATL venture has announced its 2026 product cadence: the AVATR 07L, a large 5-seater luxury SUV, will debut in Q3 this year. Following that, a flagship 6-seater SUV will arrive before year-end — and it will be the first vehicle ever to carry CATL's Qilin Condensed Battery.

Here are the numbers that matter. CATL's condensed battery delivers an energy density of 350 Wh/kg and a volumetric density of 760 Wh/L — both industry-leading figures that fundamentally reshape what is possible in a production vehicle.

What does that translate to on the road? Sedans equipped with this technology can push past 1,500 km of range. Even a full-size 3-row 6-seater SUV can crack 1,000 km — and here is the kicker: the battery pack stays under 650 kg. That is not incremental improvement. That is today's BEV beating yesterday's BEV at its own game, then lapping it.
The ambition does not stop at product. AVATR has set a target of 800,000 global annual sales by 2030, with overseas volume accounting for over 40% across 110 countries and regions. A bold global bet from a brand that only launched a few years ago — now armed with battery tech that nobody else has in production.
Editor's Note: 1,500 km is not just EVs overtaking ICE vehicles. It is today's electric cars comprehensively surpassing yesterday's electrics.
