Hongqi is not messing around in the premium BEV race. On August 1, the state-owned luxury marque launched the Tiangong 08 670 Max, a new-generation pure-electric mid-large SUV that wraps old-school Chinese prestige around modern EV architecture.

The cabin is built around the Lingxi smart cockpit, while buyers can choose between 85 kWh and 111 kWh battery packs. Better yet, the 800V high-voltage platform is standard across the range — not reserved for the top trim. That matters when everyone from BYD to NIO is racing to cut charging times.
Visually, the Tiangong 08 leans hard into identity: a glowing red-flag emblem up front and unusually shaped taillights out back. At 4,925 × 1,950 × 1,680 mm with a 3,000 mm wheelbase, it has the footprint to compete with the likes of the NIO ES6 and Li Auto L6. Whether it can match their tech ecosystems is the real test.
