XPENG LAUNCHES UPGRADED G6 & G9 MODELS IN EUROPE AT €47,600 AND €59,600 RESPECTIVELY

Published on

July 15, 2024, Guangzhou – Xpeng Motors has officially unveiled its upgraded G6 and G9 BEV SUVs for the European market, with starting prices of €47,600 (USD 51,500 / RMB 398,000) and €59,600 (USD 64,500 / RMB 498,000), respectively. Deliveries are set to begin by late summer.

Additionally, the brand confirmed the P7+ sedan will enter Europe in the second half of 2024.

Key Facts:

  • AI-Powered Pure Vision System
Both the G6 and G9 now feature Xpeng’s Turing AI Pure Vision ADAS as standard – eliminating Lidar reliance while offering high-precision autonomous driving capabilities.
  • 800V Platform with 5C Ultra-Fast Charging
The G6’s 625 km (388 mi) and 725 km (450 mi) CLTC range variants leverage ultra-fast charging, adding 200+ km (124+ mi) in 10 minutes. The G9 shares the same architecture for efficient power delivery.
  • Price Gap Between China and EU
The G6 retails in China for RMB 176,800 – 198,800 (USD $22,900–25,700), less than half its European price, reflecting EU tariffs, homologation costs, and maybe higher EV margins overseas.
  • Strategic Expansion Amid Rising EV Competition
Xpeng’s European push follows BYD, NIO, and MG, with the P7+ sedan joining later in 2024 to challenge Tesla’s Model 3 and Volkswagen’s ID.7, and many other locals.

Editor’s note

With 800V charging and vision-only autonomy, the G6 and G9 could carve a niche among tech-focused buyers, provided charging networks keep pace.
